WCPL Bid Allocation Guidelines
These rules serve as guidelines for bid allocation within the Windy City Power League (WCPL). As these are region-specific policies, the Great Lakes Region (GLR) reserves the right to adjust them when necessary, provided changes are communicated before any event.
General Guidelines:
- Regional Authority: The GLR admin may revise any rule in the best interest of the region with prior notice.
- Initial Bid Placement:
One out of every three initial bids (rounded down) will be allocated to the Club Division; the remainder will go to the Open Division.
The highest-ranked teams will always be placed in Open, and the lowest-ranked teams will always be placed in Club. - Club Division Bids: If top 5 finishers in the Club Division decline a bid, it will be moved to the Open Division.
- Reallocated Bids: All reallocated bids received by the Region will be directed to the Great Lakes Region Championships (GLRC).
- Trickle-Down Bids: If a team wins a trickle-down bid, that additional earned bid stays with the GLR event where it was earned.
- 11s Division: Bids for 11s teams will go to the highest-finishing 11s teams in WCPL.
- Unaccepted Bids: If a bid is declined and no written rule applies, the Region may reassign it to any appropriate division after making a reasonable effort to place it in the original one
- Eligibility: Bids will bypass teams not eligible to accept them (e.g., teams that already have a higher bid, out-of-region teams, or teams with waivered players).
- Club Discretion: With Region approval, a club’s higher team (e.g., 1s) may accept a bid earned by a lower team (e.g., 3s) in the same division.
